Oil price uptrend expected to continue.

BRITISH energy company BP plc expects crude oil prices to continue their upward path, with an average price increase of more than US$100 (RM326) per barrel this year.

"Last year, the annual average price increase was US$72 (RM234.72) per barrel and probably it would be higher this year. So far, for this year, the average price increase is anywhere around US$109 (RM355. 34) or US$110 (RM358.6) per barrel," its group chief economist Christof H. Ruhl told reporters after presenting BP's statistical review on World Energy in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
