ANOTHER BISCUIT PRODUCT HAS fallen off the shelf because of melamine.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III yesterday imposed a temporary ban on the sale of Sunflower Crackers Blueberry Cream Sandwich and ordered its maker, Croley Foods Manufacturing Corp., to immediately recall the product from the market until it had been tested by the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD).

Duque based his order on the findings of the Hong Kong Center for Food Safety that the particular Sunflower biscuit was tainted with melamine, a toxic chemical which can damage the kidneys when taken over a long period of time.
