Oct. 24--HOLLYWOOD -- A man was rushed to the hospital this morning after he was pulled from the ocean behind North Beach Park, Hollywood Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Mark Steele said.

The man was swimming along the beach with a group of people, including his 11-year-old son, Steele said. Others in the group flagged down passing sanitation workers at 8:43 a.m. to report the possible drowning. Lifeguards were not yet on duty but raced to the scene, Steele said.
