Baku is facing the burden of the complicated choice in the wake of recent visit of US Vice President Dick Cheney to the region, the think tank group affiliated with independent Turan news agency has concluded. Highlighting the importance of the US vice president's visit to Azerbaijan whilst the escalating tension between Russia and Georgia, the piece said it was an open demonstration of the US support for allies and own national interest in the region. The USA "is firmly intended to strengthen cooperation in both economic and political as well as in the sphere of security", the agency quoted a US official as saying.
