On 10 Oct 2008, Haldor Topsoe A/S announced that it will participate in the construction of the world's first plant producing DME from biomass. Within 18 months the plant will supply 4-5 tonnes/d of the new biofuel dimethylether, DME. "Topsoe has extensive DME experience, and we are pleased to be part of this important project, which potentially will make a substantial contribution to solving the energy challenges of tomorrow," says Technology sales manager Jens Perregaard, Technology Division. The plant will be constructed as part of the European project BioDME, coordinated by Volvo. The BioDME project will demonstrate the entire technology chain from biomass to trucks …
