from BUSINESS LINE, September 14, 2008 Kolkata, Sept. 13 - There is an urgent need for introducing a direct flight between India and Vietnam in order to enhance trade and tourism between the two countries, according to Mr Vu Quang Diem, Vietnam's Ambassador to India.

Vietnam was in talks with Indian private airlines such as Jet Airways and Kingfisher to connect India and Vietnam by a direct flight. "It could be either from Mumbai, Kolkata or any other city depending upon the feasibility.
