The Police and the Kampala City Council (KCC) are at loggerheads over a decision to stop boda-bodas (motorcycle taxi) from operating in the city center from today on.

The Police on Saturday halted the decision, announced by the deputy mayor Florence Mayanja earlier, arguing that it was made hurriedly and without consultations.

Mayanja, while addressing a press conference at City Hall on Friday, said the central business district would be a no-go area for boda-bodas, citing decongesting the city and reducing accidents as the reasons for the move.
