Thailand: Banker urges preparations for impact of US financial crisis.

Section: Business News - All parties concerned must maintain a close surveillance and come up with measures to deal with impacts in Thailand of the financial crisis in the United States, according to a top banker.

Former industry and deputy prime minister Kosit Panpiemrat, who is executive chairman of Bangkok Bank Plc, said although the US financial crisis might not appear to affect the Thai economy, it would unavoidably have an indirect impact.

He said the US financial turmoil had caused the financial, capital, and oil markets around the world to fluctuate.
