Saudi Arabia is projected to spend USD 3.76 billion on IT this year, an increase of over 11 percent compared to USD 3.38 billion in 2007. The UAE, the second-largest IT market in the region, is expected to spend USD 2.99 billion this year, up from USD 2.66 billion last year, according to a study by IDC. Spending across the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region will cross USD 40 billion this year, while the six GCC countries together will account for nearly 23 percent of the total.
