[Xinhua: "Chinese Premier Urges Coastal Area To Step up Development"]

TIANJIN, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) - Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has urged Tianjin Municipality in north China to step up opening and reform of its Binhai New Area.

Wen made the remark during his inspection tour in the coastal municipality on the sidelines of the 2008 Summer Davos Forum which was held here on Saturday and Sunday.

The Tianjin Binhai New Area includes Tianjin Port and a low-tax area. In all, it is 2,270 square km and has a population of 1.4 million.
