Botswana is not renowned as a sculpture country. Rather the only country famous for its sculpture in the southern African region is stony Zimbabwe.

However, there are some Batswana who are into this type of art.

One such artist is Mogoditshane-based ,Ziki Vincent Kraai, who once worked for Thapong Visual Arts Centre.

While most of his peers retired and went into farming, Kraai decided to make ends meet using the chisel and dead wood.

This year, Kraai was declared the winner of the sculpture section of the Botswana National Museum and Art Gallery national exhibition. His winning piece was titled Shades of …
