North Korean party paper explains country's "ideology on foreign policy".

Text of report by North Korean newspaper Nodong Sinmun on 18 October

[Special article by reporter Ri Hyo'n-to: "Our Republic's Ideology on Foreign Policy Is Firm and Unwavering"]

In his immortal classic work "The DPRK Is a Juche-Based Socialist State Having Invincible Might," the great leader [ryo'ngdoja] Comrade Kim Jong Il [Kim Cho'ng-il] clearly put forth tasks to be fulfilled in expanding and developing our country's foreign relations and in realizing the cause of making the world independent.

The great leader [ryo'ngdoja] Comrade Kim Jong Il has pointed out the following:

"The regime of our Republic should lengthen the ranks of supporters and sympathizers of our revolution and create an environment favourable to building a powerful socialist state and national reunification according to the idea of independence, peace, and friendship and by conducting diplomatic activities in line with the rapidly changing situation."

The fact that the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il clearly elucidated the idea of our party's consistent foreign policy and the principles of activities is a clear demonstration to the world of the firm position and effort of the regime of our Republic determined to make active contribution to realizing the cause of making the world independent.

Independence, peace, and friendship comprise the basic idea of the foreign policy of our Republic that strengthens international solidarity and gives impetus to the cause of making the world independent and at the same time, it is a noble idea common to mankind.
