The Presidential Anti-Smuggling Group (PASG) has intercepted P12 million worth of smuggled flour from China amid concerns about the entry of contaminated Chinese products that may endanger public health.
In a statement, PASG said it seized at the weekend four container vans loaded with smuggled flour from China after they left the Port of Manila.
PASG head Undersecretary Antonio A. Villar, Jr. said the vans were consigned to Hokkie International. It was originally consigned to Rubils, which Mr. Villar said has been a subject of numerous cases involving violations of the Customs and Tariff Code.
