FOR 11 years, I was a teacher in Indonesia. In October 2003, to help my brother further his studies, I came to Malaysia to work as a domestic helper.
I met my employer at the employment agency. She looked beautiful and kind. Her family lives in a big house. Her husband is a doctor and church leader. I had never liked cooking but I learnt to prepare food the way the family liked it. My employer was patient and gentle in teaching me my duties. I have a bad temper. I would get impatient if they were late for meals.
