KLANG: The rising crime rate in the state is worrying foreign investors and the state is urging the police to step up efforts to contain the problem.

Executive councillor Dr A. Xavier Jayakumar yesterday said the crime rate was among the considerations of foreign investors and those looking to set up businesses here.

"They (investors) need to be satisfied that their workers and families will be safe before they establish their businesses here." Xavier criminals were getting more daring and he had noticed an increase in the number of daytime cases at his constituency in Seri Andalas.
