Vietnam: Floods claim 41 deaths in northern region.

Section: General News - The death toll in floods triggered by storm Hagupit has increased to 41 people in northern provinces, according to the Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control.

The floods killed 16 people in Son La, 9 in Bac Giang, 10 in Lang Son, 5 in Quang Ninh and 1 in Vinh Phuc.

Five people are still missing and 61 others had to receive treatment for injuries in the calamity that caused total property loss estimated at 1 trillion VND. Bac Giang reported damages worth 506 billion VND; Quang Ninh, 287 billion VND; Son La, 201.6 billion VND, Lang Son, 36.6 billion VND; and Bac Kan , 5.3 billion VND.
