The Universal Service and Access Agency of South Africa (USAASA) has extended the deadline for comments on proposed access definitions. The agency compiled definitions for universal service and access, under-serviced areas and needy persons, which was published in the Government Gazette in August. The initial closing date for comment submissions was listed as 12 September, but has been extended to 14 November. USAASA is also planning to hold public hearings regarding the definitions, which will most likely occur 21 days after it has received the public's comments in writing.
