THE chairman of the Busoga chiefs royal council (Issabalangira), Christopher Mutyaba Nkono (Bukono), has relinquished the seat to concentrate on his bid for the throne.

David Kaunhe of Bukhooli chiefdom replaces Mutyaba as the Issabalangira.

Busoga kingdom's information minister Michael Kifubangabo said Kaunhe was appointed during a meeting of the 11 hereditary chiefs during the Lukiiko at Bugembe on Wednesday.

Mutyaba took over the throne in an acting capacity after the death of the Kyabazinga Henry Wako Muloki of cancer on September 1.
