[Presenter] The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority, Macra, has announced the closure of Joy Radio.

Making the announcement in Blantyre, Macra's head of broadcasting Mr James Chimera said Macra has taken the decisive action because Joy Radio was flouting the country's Communications Act. He said Malawi laws bar politicians or political parties from owning radio stations.
