Failure to tame the creeping culture of violence as a means of championing a cause could easily send Kenya to the bottom of failed states in Africa, the Waki commission warns.

The Government needs to urgently address issues related to land and unemployment among the youth if it wants to avert clashes in future.

The commission on post-election violence chaired by Mr Justice Philip Waki also urges the Government to quickly tackle inequality in resource allocation.

"Short of that, violence including that related to elections will continue to appear and will be ignited ever more readily," the Waki team says.
