The airline recently placed a $4 billion order with Boeing Co. for 25 wide-body combination passenger-freighter jets to increase its lift on international routes.
Malaysia Airlines ordered 15 B777-200s and B777-300s and 10 long-range B747400s and took options for three B747-400s and two B777s. Deliveries will begin in 1997 and continue through 2001, said Ron Woodard, president of Boeing Commercial Airplane Group.
The airline also expects to add six freighters by the end of 1996.
