Indian auto-maker Tata Motor recently suspended plans to purchase an eco-car factory site in the Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate due to the global economic slowdown, the estate operator said yesterday.

"Actually, the deal should have been finalised in the past two months but the financial situation in the US has been worsening," Sawasdi Horrungruang, chairman of Hemaraj Land and Development, said yesterday.
