30 Army Deserters Arrested in Bushenyi.

South western region security officials are holding 30 army deserters arrested from Bushenyi District last week.

According to the Deputy RDC, Mr Nickson Kabuye, the deserters are suspected to have been part of a group that has caused insecurity in the area recently. They were arrested in a joint operation by the office of the RDC, the Police and the UPDF Second Division.

"One of the challenges we have in Bushenyi is that of many army deserters in the community," Mr Kabuye told Daily Monitor on Friday. The deserters, he said are suspected to have been behind the rampant highway robberies, burglary and murders that have rocked …
