The third annual Electric Proms takes place in London and Liverpool from October 22 to 26, with shows ranging from Tony Christie performing on the Royal Daffodil Ferry in Liverpool to Oasis appearing with a 50- piece choir at the Roundhouse in London.
As in previous years, footage from the Electric Proms can be seen on a number of platforms including Radio One, Radio Two, 1Xtra, 6 Music, the Asian Network and BBC Radio Merseyside, as well as BBC1 and BBC2, via the red button service and online.
Music Week spoke to festival director Lorna Clarke about the evolution of the BBC's flagship live event.
What are you particularly looking forward to at this year's Electric Proms?
If you are a director it is hard to pick one thing as a highlight. But I think generally we are in a position where we shouldn't be putting on anything we are not happy with. There have been things we have turned down, things that looked like a good idea, but didn't work.
What we are left with is the best of the trawl. Having a massive band like Oasis in a tiny space is unbelievable. They usually play stadiums. They have really embraced the idea of what Electric Proms is about. They have gone one extra.
