RACY MASERATI CONCEPT
Maserati takes the GranTurismo to the track with its Paris show car, the GranTurismo MC, a racing-inspired concept.
Using the GranTurismo S as a starting point, Maserati ups power from the 4.7-liter V8 to 450 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque, stiffens the steel chassis and adds an FIA-approved roll cage. Two prominent air intakes up front add to the cooling air flow for the engine and brakes. A rear spoiler increases downforce. The MC concept rides on 18-inch wheels and gets single-setting racing dampers and larger brakes with racing calipers.
SHRUNKEN UTE
BMW's X1, a conceptual look at a compact addition to the German automaker's Sport Activity Vehicle lineup, debuts in Paris.
BMW will announce more details in about a year, including whether the 3-series-based small ute will make its way to the United States. So far, only European sales have been confirmed.
