Oct. 6--Howard M. Zeidwig, a long-time jurist who earned widespread appreciation for his work on behalf of at-risk youth, died of cancer Saturday. He was 64.
"He impacted everybody, not just the juveniles," his daughter Melissa Rayman said Sunday. "All of his friends admired how he had a perfect balance of work and family."
Judge Zeidwig, of Plantation, was born in Elizabeth, N.J., to a poor family, Rayman said. He graduated from the University of Florida, then obtained a law degree from Stetson University in DeLand.
