With "credit crunch" currently the unfortunate buzz phrase of 2008, it is inevitable that the music industry must face up to the financial woes that have engulfed economies worldwide. Music Week asks if the music business has anything more to fear from a global recession than it already had under existing market conditions and whether it might even benefit from tighter public spending

Oops, the economy did it again. It shrank - by around 0.2% over the last three months. And with a whole raft of economic indicators (higher fuel costs, property prices crashing, inflation, the FTSE down) now flashing red, there is a real danger the UK could slip into recession.
