A helping hand from KCRW jock Nic Harcourt helped secure Welsh songwriter Yestyn Griffiths a lucrative sync in the new 90210 TV programme - thanks to his pop star sister

WITH SUPPORT FROM INFLUENTIAL US DJ Nic Harcourt on KCRW and a song placed in episode one of the new series of 90210, unsigned Welsh artist Glass Pear is fast-tracking his route into the US market before getting the ball rolling on his career at home.
But despite being relatively unknown, it is not the first time Glass Pear founding member and songwriter Yestyn Griffiths has found resonance in the US. The Welsh artist contributed two tracks to younger sibling Jem's internationally-successful debut album and a further four to her new album, which was released last week in the US on ATO Records.
In fact, it was Jem who drove Glass Pear's entrance to the US market, having passed a CD of his songs on to Harcourt earlier this year. The DJ subsequently began playing the songs on his Morning Becomes Eclectic breakfast show, and when the call came for Harcourt to supervise the music content on the new series of Aaron Spelling's 90210 (formerly Beverly Hills 90210), he quickly found a place for Glass Pear: the group's song Last Day Of Your Life soundtracked the pivotal closing scene of the first episode of the new series, which ...
