AFTER DIPPING 1-5 LAST WEEK, KATY PERRY'S I KISSED A GIRL returns to pole position on the radio airplay chart - but only just. Its audience of 57.42m was just 0.11m greater than Sugababes' Girls, which remains at number two. Perry's bounce was at the whim of Radio One, where I Kissed A Girl was aired 24 times last week compared to 19 in the previous frame, enough for it to rank as the station's most-played track alongside the current Kings Of Leon, Pink and Eric Prydz hits.
Take Back The City will be the first single from Snow Patrol's fifth album A Hundred Million Suns, and vaults 26-8 this week to become the group's eighth Top 10 airplay hit. It is slightly flattered by its chart placing, as its tally of 558 plays last week was beaten by more than 50 tracks, including One Republic's Stop And Stare, although the latter title ranks only 92 on the airplay chart.
