Music week enters a new era this week with a new look to the magazine and website and an overhaul of its news and charts content.
Coupled with the new design, the news pages are the subject of an extensive refurbishment with new sections starting today (Monday) and running each week, covering live, music publishing and media.
The two-page Live section will not only cover news from the sector but also includes the UK's first-ever weekly box-score chart, giving a statistical rundown of the market's highest-grossing gigs and events.
And in an exclusive deal with ticketing consultancy and price checker Tixdaq, Music Week will carry live charts that will cover tours ranked by both the quantity and value of ticket sales and a countdown based on the average resale of tickets (see p13 for more details).
The new Media section throws the spotlight on radio, TV, press, online and, indeed, any outlet concerning the exposure of music. Nielsen Music Control's radio and TV airplay charts, key fixtures of Music Week, have been moved forward to this new section.
To highlight the growing importance of music publishing, we have a new weekly section covering the sector, combining news and data. It includes a weekly chart exclusively compiled for Music Week by PRS and covering the most popular songs across a variety of platforms.
Meanwhile, we showcase emerging talent in a new feature called Music Week Unearthed.
