Seybold San Francisco in September will be the stage for Microstar Software Ltd.'s announcement of a new Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) initiative that the company hopes will bring SGML to the business market by linking it with document-management systems.

Microstar will demonstrate support for SGML with Documentum Inc.'s document-management system and with its own Near & Far Author 2.0.

Announcements of integrations with Adobe Systems Inc. and InfoAccess Inc. are also expected.

Microstar will promote benefits of sharing, reusing, and republishing information in SGML -- a standard for defining formatting in text documents, not unlike HTML -- at …
