At a time when banks are needing to be rescued and mortgages are increasingly hard to come by, it is unusual to be in a position to say to people 'we have some money, please come and take it'.

But happily for those of us at the QNI, that's exactly where we stand. We have just opened the Fund for Innovation for 2009. And we have some 'careers in the community' bursaries to give away, to help nurses who want to move in to primary care, or who are relatively new to the community, and need to gain some new skills.
