By now, many of the folks most nostalgic for Mopar's muscle-car heyday already have snapped up the SRT version of the Dodge Challenger ("That "70s Show, AW, May 5), with its ground-pounding 425-hp, 6.1-liter Hemi V8. In the three months since they hit showrooms, nearly all of the 6,400 SRT8s produced have been sold.
For those less concerned about sheer performance but nonetheless looking for a stylish ride, Dodge has finally rolled out the V6 version of its throwback coupe, as well as a midrange R/T model.
Granted, with just 250 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque on tap, the 3.5-liter V6-powered Challenger SE is not a very compelling rideespecially paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and carrying 3,720 pounds.
