We disagreed, and, alas, things went as we predicted. Some suspicious Chinese behavior was minor: A seven-year-old girl with buck teeth won a contest to sing an anthem live at the opening ceremony, but a nine-year-old deemed prettier ended up lip-synching to the younger girl's voice for the cameras. Television footage of the opening ceremony was digitally altered. The gymnastics team produced passports to justify the participation of implausibly short, light, young-looking girls--Chinese websites ...
