Nectar is to contact its email base of 3m cardholders in the coming weeks as it aims to drive use of its new Nectar Music Store.
The new store (www.nectarmusicstore.com) was unveiled by the loyalty card operator last week and will allow users of the card to redeem their Nectar points for a range of DRM-free MP3 downloads.
Content from Sony BMG is already available for sale on the site, while material from the other three majors and several indies is currently being uploaded.
Nectar head of rewards Jonathan Bolden says that 10m UK households have active Nectar cards - representing the largest loyalty programme in the UK - and as a result he expects the scheme to be "very, very popular".
