CASE
Because they're built with large screens and high-performance components, desktop-replacement notebooks tend to be larger and heavier than other laptops. They also get warmer: The more blazing the rig, the hotter your laptop is likely to run, so choose a case that's properly ventilated. Magnesium and other molded metal enclosures usually dissipate heat better than plastic cases can.
PROCESSOR
To make sure your notebook can go toe to toe with a good desktop, a powerful CPU is a must--go with systems using Intel's Core 2 Duo or AMD's 64-bit Turion 64 processors. For even more power, some systems can be configured with Core 2 Quad or Core 2 Extreme desktop processors, though these will run especially hot.
