Though Vista is everywhere, this is still a useful tip for Windows XP! Many beginner PC users may not realize that the Windows XP Luna theme is a memory hog for older computers with low RAM. An easy fix is to enter Control Panel (Start > Control Panel) and select System (in Advanced/Classic view). Once the System Properties window appears, click the Advanced tab, then the Settings button in the Performance section. Then select the "Adjust for best performance" radio button to disable all the special effects that Windows XP Luna uses. This will affect all your toolbars, window bars, and other such visual markers, so this isn't for those who prefer XP's savvy visuals. The look resembles the original Windows Classic theme from the older forms of Windows, and increases performance marginally for garners and for home businesses trying to get the most out of their budget computers.
