IN THE FIGHT AGAINST SPYWARE and adware, Lavasoft has been among the most conspicuous players. We recently tested Ad-Aware 2008 Pro, its top-of-the-line product, and were fairly impressed with the results.
The program's basic anti-spyware and adware manual scan has a well-deserved reputation for quality. The custom scan is highly configurable in terms of what it will scan for and where, and you can now set it to also search for viruses.
