Despite some mixed research results, overall findings associated with the use of electronic meeting systems (EMS) in organizations are positive. The expectation of meeting improvements has led a growing number of organizations to enthusiastically adopt EMS software. However, a large percentage of organizations have not eagerly embraced the concept. Electronic meeting system specifications are discussed and prospective and current EMS users are interviewed. Analysis of interview data revealed some interesting insights into their perceptions of the potential of EMS and their strategies for introducing and using EMS.
