Aug. 29--A 65-year-old retired truck driver will argue that he killed a federal agent in self-defense after a road rage incident, his attorneys said Thursday.

After a search mobilizing hundreds of local, state and federal law enforcement officials, James Wonder was arrested on an initial charge of premeditated murder in the Aug. 5 shooting death of U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agent Donald Pettit. But a Broward County grand jury on Thursday elected to indict him on the lesser charge of manslaughter.

Instead of life in prison or even the death penalty, Wonder now faces a maximum of 15 years in prison if found …
