One of three local brokers will become partner of national giant
DOWNTOWN - After years of indecision, national real estate giant CB Commercial Real Estate Group Inc. plans to make a king-sized splash in Pittsburgh.
One of the nation's largest full-service real estate companies, the Los Angeles-based broker plans to join with a local company, challenging large firms like Grubb & Ellis Co. and The Galbreath Co., while dealing a body blow to the market's small and midsized brokerages.
At press time, CB had three local partners under consideration: Arnheim & Neely Inc./Oncor International, Langholz/Wilson & Associates Inc. and Gold & Co. Inc./New America Network.
"Any one of those three are outstanding firms," said Mark Donahue, senior executive vice president with CB Commercial Partners Inc., a new CB subsidiary designed to create joint venture relationships in secondary markets such as Pittsburgh.
