Avaya Inc. announces enhancements to Quick Edition, a plug-and-play, SIP- based, server-less solution for small offices with two to 40 telephone users. The solution embeds IP communications software within an Avaya IP telephone, placing intelligence in the phone and eliminating the need for traditional PBX hardware. Installation is simple - phones are plugged into the Local Area Network (LAN) and start-up begins automatically. Avaya has selected frequently- used telephony features to be available with Quick Edition, and as a scalable solution, customers need only purchase the exact number of telephones required.
1616 IP TelephoneNew Release 4.0 functionality adds an additional telephone option, the Avaya 1616 IP Telephone (pictured), which is designed for the 'navigator' or people who answer incoming calls or need to monitor several line appearances. The 1616 IP Telephone has 16 line appearance/feature keys, a 4x24 backlit display and support for a 32-button expansion module. With this new telephone option, Avaya Quick Edition customers can now choose from three telephones. Avaya 4621SW and 4610SW IP Telephones are also available.
Quick Edition R4.0 also adds a logging feature that gathers system and device information in real-time and displays the data on a local PC.
