(Yes, the cars I care about I personify. She is tenacious, has unfaltering focus and does so many things well. I also get the sense she'll never forget when I screw up.)
On a 3,992.8-mile summer jaunt whose goal was a white-water raft trip, Norge did not kvetch, despite piles of sunflower-seed hulls on her floor, despite hours of sophomoric DVDs coursing through her multiple screens and despite a never-ending Grateful Dead concert from her Sirius satellite radio.
Just the boys and I climbed into Norge for this junket. The genteel Becky had considered (for perhaps a nanosecond) joining the 10-day trip of teenage fust and hormones. She opted out. For me, it was a bond with the boys, a chance to strike out and revel in our country's glories.
