Maureen Regan Smith, who built The Denver Business Journal into one of the most successful city business publications in the country, is taking her turnaround talents to Texas as publisher and majority owner of the Fort Worth Business Press.
Regan Smith, 36, became publisher of the Business Journal in 1989 when the newspaper was losing money. Since her arrival, the Journal's revenues have grown 144 percent, net operating income increased 1,400 percent and paid circulation went up 75 percent to 14,000 weekly.
