ROSSI IN A1GP?
A1GP's Team Italy wants multiple MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi, 29, to race its car in the 2008-09 season. Rossi impressed on several occasions when he tested Ferrari Formula One cars. Ferrari will supply all A1GP teams with chassis and engines from now on.
"I'm a good friend of Valentino, and we've spoken about it,'' said Former F1 driver and Team Italy boss Piercarlo Ghinzani. "It would be a fantastic situation to have him.''
However, A1GP's far-flung calendar could cause a problem for Rossi's winter testing program with his Yamaha MotoGP team.
BOSTROM IN GRAND-AM?
U.S. motorcycle star Ben Bostrom, 34, tested a Grand-Am Daytona Prototype at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama, and could move to four wheels starting next year. He tested with Riley Matthews Motorsports. Bostrom, who leads the AMA Supersport championship with five wins for Yamaha this season, tested a Riley-Pontiac, which the team said he quickly brought up to speed.
