The Upfront and Commercial Pop charts converge again this week, with DJs from both arenas stating a preference for Spoon, Harris & Obernik's Baditude.
Touted as the dance anthem of the summer, Baditude combines the talents of Dave Spoon, Dirty Vegas graduate Paul Harris and vocalist Sam Obernik to provide the four-year-old Toolroom Records indie with its first number one.
Baditude had a slender victory on both charts, keeping Kylie Minogue at number two on the Upfront chart with a wafer-thin majority of 0.75%, and winning the battle for Commercial Pop chart honours by a slightly more comfortable 2% margin over Avenue's The Last Goodbye.
In addition to major club support, Baditude is getting plenty of radio exposure, particularly from Kiss 100 FM and Radio One, where it was aired eight times last week. It gained popularity at the station after being elected as Pete Tong's Essential New Tune.
