AGR FIRES DRIVERS
Andretti Green Racing will replace Bryan Herta and Christian Fittipaldi as the drivers of its Acura prototype in the American Le Mans Series. AGR IndyCar driver Marco Andretti, 21, will join former Formula One driver Franck Montagny, 30, for the next race, at Lime Rock Park on July 12. AGR said that Montagny will be its primary driver and will share the car with various others for the season's remainder. Team co-owner Michael Andretti said it is possible that Herta will drive for AGR again.
BIFFLE SIGNS
As expected (Competition, May 12), Greg Biffle signed a three-year contract extension to remain with Roush Fenway Racing through the 2011 Sprint Cup season.
DAN DAVIS RETIRING
Dan Davis will retire on Aug. 1 as director of Ford Racing Technology. Davis headed Ford Racing for 11 years, and his departure midway through the 36-race Cup season caught many by surprise. He will be succeeded by Brian Wolfe, who has held various positions within Ford's powertrain-development division during his 26 years at Ford.
