We all know That Girl: the one who has a boyfriend. Even after a breakup, she's "seriously" in love again within weeks. Stars do it too--take romance addict Drew Barrymore, who has yet another guy in her string of The Ones, or Kate Moss and Sienna Miller, who both rebounded from broken engagements right into serious relationships. Either they're super-duper lucky in man meeting or something else is spurring their serial bonds.
Experts say that a cultural identity crisis might be accelerating the commitment process. "Marriage used to happen as soon as we left the nest," says John Van Epp, PhD, author of How to Avoid Falling in Love With a Jerk. "But as the age of first marriage has gone up, there's almost a whole decade where people feel undefined--you're not living at home but you also don't have your own family." That makes some people rush into a commitment at the first whiff of possibility. "Being from a broken home can make you even more eager to connect," adds Van Epp.
