An American Family: The Buckleys, by Reid Buckley (Threshold Editions, 459 pp., $28)
IN his remarks at his father's memorial service in April, Christopher Buckley told of an incident that took place last fall. The library in Sharon, Conn., needed to raise money, and WFB's sister Priscilla had agreed to host an event at the family home, Great Elm. "A Bevy of Buckleys," it was called, and it brought together a half-dozen book-writing Buckleys to read from their works. Christopher was amused to see an item in the local paper that began, "The Buckleys are a well-known American family, William F. Buckley being arguably the best known." ...
