THE AMERICAN FOREST & Paper Association foresees moderate growth in paper availability in 1996, according to the 36th annual Capacity Survey, released Dec. 8, 1995, in New York City. AFPA president W. Henson Moore said that the 2.5% growth predicted for all grades of paper in the 1995-98 period covered by the survey is "in line with historical trends from 1985-94." Printing and Writing grades are expected to grow at about 2.4% annually for uncoated freesheet, adding 250,000 tons to the base of 4.4 million tons by 1998; and 3.1% for coated freesheet, adding 700,000 tons to the 4.6 million ton base.
